Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 20 October 2026

1. About us

These Terms & Conditions explain the basis on which Kinetic Maintenance Group provides its website and property maintenance services.

Legal business name: Kinetic Maintenance Group
Business address: Kinetic Maintenance Group LTD, 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU
Email: contact@kineticmaintenance.co.uk
Telephone: 020 3468 1628

Please read these terms alongside any quotation, written scope of work and booking confirmation we provide.

2. Our services

We provide property maintenance and related services for domestic and commercial customers across Essex and London.

These may include general property maintenance, handyman work, plumbing and gas services, electrical services and cleaning.

The services included in your booking will be set out in the agreed quotation or written scope of work. Not every service is suitable for every property or requirement.

Where specialist or regulated work is required, we will arrange the appropriate professional support.

3. Enquiries, quotations and bookings

Submitting an enquiry does not create a confirmed booking.

Before a contract is formed, we will confirm the scope of work, the price or how it will be calculated, relevant payment arrangements and any other applicable terms.

A contract is formed when you accept our quotation and we confirm the booking in writing.

Please tell us before accepting if any information in the quotation or booking details is incorrect.

Any additional terms must be agreed before the contract is formed. Nothing in a quotation or booking confirmation removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

4. Quotations and estimates

A quotation is a price for the work described, subject to any assumptions or conditions clearly stated within it.

An estimate is an indication of the likely cost, rather than a fixed price.

Prices are based on the information available when the quotation or estimate is prepared. A property visit or further investigation may be needed before we can confirm the required work.

For consumer customers, any VAT and unavoidable charges will be included in the stated total or clearly explained before booking.

5. Changes and additional work

If you request a change, or we discover that additional work may be needed, we will explain the proposed change and any effect on the price or timescale.

We will obtain your agreement before carrying out chargeable additional work.

If we identify an immediate safety concern, we may stop work and discuss the appropriate next steps with you. We will not proceed with work that we consider unsafe or unlawful.

6. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about the property and requested work.

  • Confirm that you have permission to instruct the work.

  • Arrange any necessary landlord, owner or managing agent approvals.

  • Provide safe and reasonable access at agreed times.

  • Tell us about known hazards, access restrictions and relevant property conditions.

  • Keep children and pets away from work areas where necessary.

  • Make agreed arrangements for utilities or facilities needed to complete the work.

If you instruct us on behalf of another person or organisation, please identify the contracting customer and explain who is responsible for authorising work and paying invoices.

If access problems or missing information affect the job, we will discuss any necessary changes with you. Any additional charges must be fair, lawful and explained.

7. Appointments and completion times

We will make reasonable efforts to attend appointments and complete work within agreed timescales.

If a delay occurs because of material availability, unexpected property conditions, severe weather or another event outside our reasonable control, we will inform you and discuss revised arrangements.

Where a delay is substantial, we will discuss the options available, including any applicable cancellation or refund rights.

Unless expressly agreed, our services do not include guaranteed emergency attendance or round-the-clock availability.

8. Materials and customer-supplied items

Any materials or items included in our price will be described in the quotation or agreed scope.

If you supply items, you are responsible for ensuring that you are entitled to use them and that they are suitable for the intended purpose. We will tell you if we identify an apparent suitability issue.

We remain responsible for carrying out our installation or other work with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for defects inherent in customer-supplied items unless we caused or contributed to the problem.

9. Payment

The price, payment due dates and any deposit or stage payments will be confirmed before booking.

Deposits will be credited against the agreed total. The treatment of a deposit if a booking is cancelled will depend on your legal rights and any fair cancellation terms agreed before booking.

If you believe an invoice is incorrect, please contact us promptly so we can investigate.

We will not add charges that were not agreed or otherwise lawfully payable.

10. Cancellation and rescheduling

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange work.

Where you are a consumer and the law gives you a cooling-off period for a contract made online, by telephone or away from our business premises, you will normally have 14 days from the day after the contract is made to cancel.

To cancel, send a clear statement to contact@kineticmaintenance.co.uk or contact us by telephone. You may use the model cancellation form below, but you do not have to.

If you want services to begin during a cancellation period, we will obtain your express request and any acknowledgements required by law. If you then cancel after work has started, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for services supplied up to cancellation, provided the legal requirements have been met.

You will lose the right to cancel once the service has been fully performed only where the required prior consent and acknowledgement have been obtained.

Specific exceptions may apply, including certain urgent repair or maintenance visits expressly requested by you. Where relevant, we will explain how those exceptions affect your booking.

Where cancellation charges are lawfully due, they will be fair and reflect losses reasonably incurred, taking account of costs saved and reasonable steps to reduce the loss. We will explain any deductions and return sums due within the applicable legal timeframe.

11. Workmanship and problems with services

We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill.

If you are unhappy with any work, please contact us promptly with the job details and a description of the issue. Photographs may help us understand the concern.

We will investigate and discuss an appropriate remedy. Where consumer law applies, you may be entitled to repeat performance, a price reduction or another remedy depending on the circumstances.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.

12. Liability

We are responsible for loss or damage caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill, to the extent required by applicable law.

We do not exclude or limit liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence.

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

  • Any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

We are not responsible for pre-existing defects or losses we did not cause or contribute to. This does not remove responsibility where we negligently fail to identify or address something within the agreed scope of our work.

Any separate business-to-business liability terms must be expressly agreed before the relevant contract is formed.

13. Subcontractors

We may use appropriately skilled tradespeople or subcontractors to carry out parts of the agreed work.

Where your contract is with us, using a subcontractor does not remove our responsibility to you for the services we have agreed to provide.

If a service will instead be contracted directly with another provider, we will explain this before you commit.

14. Website use

Information on our website provides a general overview of our services. The exact work, availability and price for your requirement must be confirmed with us.

You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access or upload unlawful or harmful material.

Website content must not be copied or used commercially without permission unless permitted by law. Rights in third-party materials remain with their respective owners.

15. Personal information

We handle personal information as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Please refer to that policy for information about data use, sharing, retention and your rights.

16. Complaints

Please send complaints to:

Email: contact@kineticmaintenance.co.uk
Telephone: 020 3468 1628

Include your name, property address, relevant booking or invoice reference and a description of the concern.

We will review the matter and explain our proposed response. If a complaint cannot be resolved, we will provide information about any applicable alternative dispute resolution arrangements where required by law.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

For business customers, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.

For consumer customers, nothing in these terms removes any mandatory protections or rights to bring proceedings in another court available under applicable law.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for future bookings. The version agreed when your contract is formed will apply to that booking unless a change is subsequently agreed with you.

Model cancellation form

Complete and return this form only if you wish to cancel a contract to which a statutory cancellation right applies.
